Amazing Acts of Kindness

Make a Wish and Give Kids the World are absolutely amazing organizations. We can't say enough about the kindness and generosity we received from them. We were told to wear the blue Make a Wish buttons every day and every where we went, but that it was no guarantee that we would receive any extra assistance or special treatment at the parks. However, that's exactly what we experienced. The kids were spotted right away by most of the characters and ride greeters. Once we were spotted, we were moved ahead of lines to meet characters, to see shows and ride rides. We felt bad at times being moved ahead when others had to wait up to an hour or longer. The kids started to get used to it, though. Once we were standing in line for lunch and Lexi said, "Mom, can't we cut in line since we're with Make a Wish?" We had to explain to the kids, the buttons didn't work for food or restroom lines.

On Friday we went to Cinderella's Round Table in her castle to eat lunch. When we arrived we were asked if we had reservations. We had no idea we had to make reservations; we had only recently learned about it from one of Mary Lou's co-workers. So we said we could wait and eat dinner or eat there the next day and asked them for reservations for then. Well, the next thing we know we are told to go on in and wait for our name to be called. Within about 30 minutes (after a photo shoot with Cinderella) we were seated! The food was excellent. The desserts were out of this world and the atmosphere was magical. Four princesses arrived and greeted all the tables. Snow White, Jasmine, Belle and Sleeping Beauty signed autograph books, posed for pictures with children and made the lunch even more enchanting.

We had dinner with some good friends of ours who live in Orlando and found out that she and her daughter tried to eat at Cinderella's Round Table on Monday and were told they needed reservations. In fact, they would need to reserve their table 6 months in advance! Wow! We had no idea how big of a deal it was that we all got seated within 45 minutes of our arrival! Thank you, Make a Wish and Disney World!
