Both teachers said the kids did well and at lunch time both kids seemed to be enjoying their lunches and talking with their friends. I (Mary Lou) even noticed Lexi was eating her crust on her peanut butter sandwich! I didn't dare comment about it, or she would stop eating her crust again. Zachary told me in the lunch room that he told Miss Terri (his para-professional) all about meeting Sponge Bob and Jimmy Newtron.
It was fun to help them open their milk cartons and other containers, and watch how each child behaved at lunch. It was cute to watch many of them open their frozen fruit desserts and eat them first! It was also good to discover that there are kids just as messy as our children during meal time. One little girl wanted to know, "whose mommy are you?" And another child asked if he could leave after lunch. Zachary asked me, "what's for dinner?" And Lexi wanted to know if she could stay for after school child care instead of being picked up....
I have a feeling this school year is going to go by even faster, with both kids in school. Will keep you posted on their upcoming activities!

Keep taking those photos each year on the first day of school! Our kids hated it as they got older but I'm so glad to have them!
Wanna come work in our lunchroom?
Those are great pictures!! Loved the questions you got from the kids...especially zach asking "what's for dinner?" at lunch time :)
They both had smiles and I know Lexi was excited to start her journey, Zach says this is old hat for him, but how was it for mom and dad? Enjoy the ride, it will go fast. Love the pictures...
